Spaghetti Tower Challenge

My team began this process by brainstorming ideas about how we would build the tower. I found it easy to utilize the materials and and make a stable tower. However, we had some challenges with keeping the spaghetti sticks on the table without any support, other than tape. It was quite difficult for us to separate the spaghetti sticks because they were very fragile and not flexible. The age group I feel this activity may best made for is high school students because it would test their team building skills.

There wasn't a leader on our team. I think having designated someone a leader would not have helped because the person might want to manage the whole activity and only use their ideas, instead of listening and considering their teams thoughts.

Collaboration looked like a team effort. We were all participating and helping to reach the objective of the activity. I feel that everyone's ideas were well received during this activity. My frustration/patience level was significantly high. All of my teammates were included in the activity.

My team had a plan, before we started building the tower. Fortunately, our plan was successful. No, we did not veer from our plan, instead we made little modifications to our final product. The foundation of the tower worked, but it was slightly tilting because it wasn't the strongest. Because making two tipi's we planned to make in the beginning didn't work, we had to change our model.

I learned to be more patient and optimistic throughout this activity. I am somewhat of a leader, but I feel that I could have participated in the activity more. I work well with groups, but sometimes its difficult to communicate within the group, especially if everyone has different opinions. I sometimes work well under pressure. Something I can work on in the next activity is helping the team out more. For instance, I could give more suggestions to my teammates.
